what's here: GET INVOLVED
Get Involved
There are many nice places to live but Verrado is special; and it's the residents that make it that way. Verrado is filled with people who are passionate and involved, people who share similar interests. Consider the many ways you might get involved.
Whatever your interests - budding artist or devoted foodie, flag football fanatic or hiking buff, community volunteer or neighborhood leader - you'll find yourself here.
Clubs
Verrado’s clubs are designed to help residents get connected and pursue shared interests. From professional, recreational, social, service, cultural, and athletic activities, Verrado’s clubs help expand horizons and build community spirit. Here is just a sample:

Verrado is a place where people not only care for one another; they give their time and resources to those in need. In fact last year, the Verrado community logged 23,538 volunteer hours, an estimated value of almost $460,000 in volunteer time. To honor this spirit of giving, the Verrado Assembly facilitates a range of opportunities which include serving food at local soup kitchens, donating to West Valley clothing drives, organizing fund raisers and providing meals to neighbors in need. There are many opportunities for residents to give back.
Giving Tree
A special philanthropic testament, the Giving Tree, celebrates an extraordinary commitment to charitable endeavors in the Verrado community.
Under the guidance of our Verrado Leadership™ program, the Giving Tree is the centerpiece for fundraising, bringing awareness to vital efforts and serving as a catalyst for volunteerism and community involvement.
Dedicated on October 16, 2007, the Giving Tree was illuminated purple in support of the American Cancer Society. This first beneficiary of the Giving Tree and Verrado’s participation in Buckeye’s Inaugural Relay for Life raised more than $100,000.
Verrado Leadership™ (VL) was created through the Verrado Assembly, in partnership with Arizona State University (ASU) and a resident steering committee, to enhance the quality of life for Verrado residents. Its mission is to cultivate a leadership community.
Each neighborhood is represented by a Neighborhood Captain who is committed to four goals: 1.) community outreach through neighbor to neighbor engagement, 2.) being a neighborhood organizer for community events and activities, 3.) being an ambassador for the community and 4.) being a steward of charitable endeavors.
The VL program is a vital part of life in Verrado, creating a legacy that will not only touch the hearts and lives of the program participants, but will influence the greater community for years to come.
Verrado Youth Leadership
Verrado Youth Leadership Program is growing leaders in our community. A life changing experience for Verrado’s youth, grades 6 – 9, participation in this program involves active learning sessions on basic leadership skills, effective communication and active listening skills, including guest speakers, various field trips, fundraising events and community projects.
