what's here: LEARN
Verrado is committed to education. Whether it's grades K-12, our alliance with ASU West, or continuing adult learning, we'll help you get to the head of the class.
Exemplary Facilities
The educational facilities at Verrado are designed to reflect the character of traditional schools, while accommodating the innovative use of technology and teaching that extends far beyond the classroom.
Early On
Verrado currently lies within three school districts including: Litchfield Elementary School District, Agua Fria High School District, and Saddle Mountain Unified School District. Verrado Elementary School serves pre-school and grades K-5 and Verrado Middle School serves grades 6-8. The schools sit on thirty acres of land in the heart of the community, within walking distance of many neighborhoods.
Verrado High School opened its doors on August 7, 2006 to the freshmen class of 2010. The school is the part of the Agua Fria Union High School District. The most frequented high school for students not freshmen (as of 2006) or sophomores (Fall 2007) is Desert Edge. See the school district website for more information.
ASU West Campus and Verrado have forged an alliance to create lifelong educational opportunities for students and residents of all ages. ASU Lifelong Learning at Verrado is specifically designed and offered to Verrado neighbors, who have a wide variety of learning styles, educational backgrounds and interests.
Arizona State University and the community of Verrado are home-growing teachers for our West Valley neighborhoods. Through a program ASU calls the "fast-track postbac"-short for postbaccalaureate-the College of Teacher Education and Leadership at ASU's West campus offers a 10-month program that leads to initial state teacher certification in either elementary or secondary education. It's an expedited way for individuals who already have earned their undergraduate degree to move into a rewarding career as a classroom teacher.
ASU also offers a wide range of summer programs and camps for toddlers, kids, teens and adults. Programs range from drama, music and art to math, science, computers, and sports. Build a robot, explore ancient petroglyphs, take horse riding lessons, double your reading speed, improve your batting average, learn to draw, or prepare for college-you can do all this and more at ASU this summer.
