55 Things to do while you wait for Victory is off and running. Our first Music on Main of the New Year is coming up next weekend, and so we thought it would be cool to share a Victory playlist for your enjoyment. We’ve picked tunes from Springsteen, Springfield, The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Marvin Gaye, Etta James and more. We’ve included songs from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, from the British Invasion to The Material Girl. Most importantly, in addition to being the stuff we used to like jamming to back when, it’s what we love to sit back and listen to now. Still sounds pretty good, right?
Here’s how it works: In order to make sure anyone can access and share this first Victory playlist, we decided to forgo iTunes and try something new: Spotify. For those of you who haven’t tried it already, Spotify gives you millions of songs at your fingertips – for free. Not to mention new music suggestions, lists of top current songs, the ability to make playlists, import your iTunes library and even download a free mobile or tablet app. We know it’s not the same as your trusty old turntable spinning vinyl records, but it’s a great way to listen to good music for free.
To access the playlist just follow these steps:
1) Click the green Spotify logo or play button on any of the songs below.
2) The Spotify website will open. Just click the “Or try our Web Player” below the green button.
3) Sign-up using email or Facebook, your choice. (log-in if you’re already a user – link is at bottom of pop-up box)
4) Click Play and enjoy 1 hour and 34 minutes of great music.
5) Follow VictoryVerrado for easy access to this and future playlists.
Already have Spotify? If you already have Spotify on your computer, simply click the play button and the song you selected will begin playing.
Music on Main: If you’re near Verrado next weekend, be sure to join us for our free concert series. The first concert is Saturday, February 15, featuring Walt Richardson who describes his music as a spin of Folk, Rock, Reggae, and added African and Latin influences. Don’t worry, if you can’t make this first concert there are two more throughout March. Come stake out a spot on Verrado’s Village Green and enjoy the tunes from 2-5 pm.
