ARIZONA RESTAURANT WEEK – MAY 15th – 25th
Food brings us together. It’s common ground, an excuse to get out and explore, a way to meet people and have new experiences. That’s why food is so important to us here at Verrado and Victory – it’s an extension of community.
That’s why our team is so excited about the upcoming Spring 2015 AZ Restaurant Week, which kicks off Friday, May 15th through the 25th. Restaurants across over the Valley are pulling out all the stops with innovative and creative pre fixe menus that are sure to please your palate. As it says on ArizonaRestaurantWeek.com, “this statewide affair offers foodies a wealth of dining opportunities and the chance to get outside their own neighborhood and try something new. From sizzling Southwestern and soothing comfort foods to five-star dining and international fare – it’s all on the table during Arizona Restaurant Week. So prepare your taste buds and dig in.”
What’s even more exciting is that once again Arizona Restaurant Week can be enjoyed right here in Verrado courtesy of our very own Tempo Urban Bistro. Located right on Main St., Tempo is full of delicious menu options, with Chef and Owner Steven Maynard having gained a reputation as a chef focused on fresh, local foods, craft beers and music and art. Just our style.
Tempo’s $33 3-course restaurant week menu features stuff like fried green tomatoes with roasted red pepper aioli, grilled peach salad with prosciutto, swordfish, chicken French, an incredible sounding seared flatiron steak and a few equally tasty dessert options. You can view the full menu here and read more about Tempo below. If you love what you see, you should also check out Tempo’s delicious burger recipe featured as number 12 on our list of 55 Things to do while you wait for Victory last year.
While you’re out exploring the West Valley food scene this week, be sure to check out the other great culinary options Verrado has to offer, too. From Ciao Grazie pizzeria and wine bar to The Verrado Grille and Verrado Coffee Company, the community is full of mouthwatering options.

Tempo Urban Bistro | Join us on Main Street

Husband and wife team Steve and Karen Maynard are fulfilling a lifelong dream of owning and operating their own restaurant, Tempo Urban Bistro and Coffee in the community they’ve called home for the past seven years. Originally from upstate New York, the Maynard’s new space in the heart of Verrado’s Main Street features both a coffee bar and American bistro.
According to Steve, “We chose the name ‘Tempo’ for multiple reasons. Our food, service and décor are based on our brand as a contemporary urban bistro. Tempo is not only the heart of the word contemporary; it represents the rhythm and beat. We are that beat on Main Street.”
The coffee bar is open daily from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m., and the bistro is open for lunch from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and dinner from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Tempo is open until 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday nights. Saturday nights also often feature a live band; visit their website or twitter feed to see who is playing.
