Husband and wife team Craig and Emily Guincho are fulfilling their dream of owning and operating two family businesses, Barbershop on Main Street and Blue Daisy Day Spa/ Salon/Boutique in Verrado. Originally from Utah where they owned a chain of successful salons, the Guincho’s new businesses on Main Street brings two new cutting edge choices for hair and beauty services to Verrado residents and the West Valley. Inhabiting the building formerly housing the Verrado Welcome Center, their renovation is designed to provide a luxurious one-stop destination for men and women seeking an experience typically found only in resort spas.
“We’ve taken 14 years of combined experience in the hair salon industry, and invested the past several years to create a best-in-class experience for our guests,” owner Craig Guincho said.
Embracing the culture of both a barber shop and shave parlor, The Barbershop on Main builds on Verrado’s sense of community as a gathering place. It pays homage to the craft of barbering, offering a traditional straight razor shave with hot towel, haircuts and well-honed products developed by barbers. The interior is designed to reflect a ‘mancave’ setting, with antiqued cabinets, comfortable leather chairs and large screen TV’s.
The Blue Daisy, whose name was inspired by the Guincho’s youngest daughter, will provide ambiance and ‘moments of wellness’ within a day spa, salon and boutique environment when it opens on February 2. The Blue Daisy Spa will offer highly skilled therapists for signature massage, facial and skincare treatments, along with a manicure bar and pedicure lounge, while the boutique will feature trendy fashions and accessories for all occasions.
The Blue Daisy Salon will provide full-service hair color, haircut and aesthetic services, with pampering ‘moments of wellness’ Guests will be greeted with complimentary mini cupcakes and beverages, as well as complimentary ‘moments of relaxation’ upon arrival, which could include a mini-facial, sugar scrub, or neck and shoulder massage. Afterward, each visit will conclude with a complimentary touch-up of makeup and a photo to capture the transformative effects of each guest’s visit.

“It’s taken a journey of two years and two thousand miles to bring The Blue Daisy and Barbershop to life,” Craig said. “Life in Utah was great, but the distance separating us from my parents in California was too much. We made a conscious decision to move our families closer together, and remarkably, we all settled in Verrado. With these openings, we’ve come full circle. We can’t wait to welcome the community we’ve come to love to our new family business!”
