The fourth annual Joy of Giving event on December 2nd at the Raven in Verrado was truly a night to remember.

With a combined effort from our neighbors, local schools, churches, businesses and even Verrado’s own kids, a huge room was filled with toys, coats, blankets, food and other gifts. Over $15,000 in monetary donations and gift cards were also collected. 

At the end of the night, a group of volunteers loaded all of the generous donations, filling a full sized UHaul and SUV that delivered the gifts to Buckeye Outreach Social Services (B.O.S.S.). Through a B.O.S.S. program, this generosity will benefit over 4,000 local West Valley families in need and would not have a Christmas without the extremely generous hearts in the Verrado community.

More volunteers in Verrado are now coming together to sort and organize the items by family size and ages of their children, so that they can be picked up before the holiday.

Standing next to a large tree completely overshadowed by gifts and love, both children and adults commented that they felt the onset of tears while taking in this miraculous display of generosity.
