Main Street is a nexus of thriving businesses, with a preponderance of owners who call Verrado home. A prime example is Johnson Wealth Management, a long-term financial planning group serving a core niche of high net worth individuals. Verrado resident David Johnson leads the charge as Founder and President, overseeing all Arizona-based accounts.
“We maintain a portfolio of 300 key clients who have worked very hard to create their wealth. Now, they need a financial adviser to empower their lifestyle to live and leave a legacy,” he said. Opening offices in northern California nearly 25 years ago, Johnson is first to admit that his own good fortune is innately linked to his residence in Verrado, where his three grown daughters, and their families with six grandchildren all live within walking distance of each other.
“My wife and I moved from northern California to Tucson in 2003, where I co-founded a church within a college community. In 2009, we started commuting to Phoenix when my wife required medical care. That’s when I approached my son-in-law Toby Farmer to help us locate a home in the West Valley, and we fell in love with Verrado.”
When asked about recent volatility in the markets, Johnson is eager to share his philosophy to wealth management. “I’m a student of historical pasts. In fact, I still have newspapers from the crash of 1929 and 1987 as well as the financial crisis of 2007-2009. That part of the continuum is 25+ years, and a key reason why you don’t panic during down cycles,” Johnson said. “The pendulum, historically, always swings back.”
Faith is another cornerstone of Johnson’s life. He’s an ordained minister who often volunteers at an inner city church in downtown Phoenix. “I’m somewhat of an anomaly among financial advisors, because I’m also called upon to perform weddings and funerals for close friends and clients,” he admits.
Johnson holds the professional designation of Registered Financial Consultant (RFC), carrying Series 24, 7, 63, 65 licenses, as well as insurance licenses for Accident/Health Agent, Life Agent and Variable Life/Variable Annuities. Brandon Stockman manages Johnson Wealth Management’s two northern California offices, holding series 7 and 66 licenses. To learn more, visit www.JCGWealth.com.
