One of the best things about living in Verrado is jumping on your bike or taking a nice stroll to one of our restaurants on Main Street. Whether you seek amazing views, a romantic evening with the perfect bottle of wine, or a more casual environment with a group of great friends, you can experience it all right here in Verrado.
In this three-part series, we asked local chefs and managers at Verrado’s elegant eateries for their suggestions and tips for enjoying the ultimate dining experience at their respective establishments. Join us as we explore Tempo Urban Bistro, where owner and executive chef Steve Maynard offers up his favorite menu selections for your consideration.
Next we will hear from Ciao Grazie’s Manager Anthony Salamone and the series will conclude with Kitchen Manager Becca Carlson from Verrado Grille.

Tempo Urban Bistro is a one-stop shop for the eclectic foodie
Though only open in Verrado for eight months, Tempo Urban Bistro & Coffee Bar is already a quintessential Verrado hangout. It has a hip urban atmosphere featuring music and art paired with fresh food and a wide range of beverages from craft beer to coffee.
The first thing Chef Maynard recommends you do upon arriving to his restaurant is order a drink from the menu of specialty cocktails. If you’re feeling a bit retro, try a Moscow Mule — a vodka, ginger beer, and lime concoction—which was made popular during the mid-20th century when vodka became more widely available in the U.S. Or, if you’re feeling the need to just get away from it all, an Urban Vacation will transition you to a more festive vibe with its combination of tequila and grapefruit juice. Of course, a craft beer is always a smart choice. Try the Tempo Ale served in a frosted glass. It’s a rich, smooth, and satisfying American pale ale.
Any of Tempo’s refreshing beverages complement the variety of customer-favorite appetizers. Try the delicious Poutine, the Canadian specialty made with fresh-cut fries, a rich demi-glace sauce and cheese curds. Also on the appetizer menu are veal meatballs — a recipe straight from Chef Maynard’s grandmother’s kitchen. These delicacies are served in a house-made marinara sauce topped with fresh parmesan cheese.
For the main course, treat yourself to a dish of creamy lobster mac & cheese or slow-cooked tender beef short ribs and braising vegetables on garlic mashed potatoes. The house favorite, though, is chicken and waffles. The chicken is roasted to perfection and served with a whisky maple sauce on a homemade jalapeño cornbread waffle. Chef Maynard prepares and serves only the freshest of ingredients to make each dish a delicious pleasure.
Conclude your meal with a delightful cappuccino or café brevé, paired with a serving of fresh-baked ricotta cheesecake dusted with powdered sugar for just the right amount of sweetness.
The next time you are seeking an adventurous culinary excursion, come in and experience Tempo Urban Bistro — the heartbeat of Verrado!
