The summer was sizzling but at the Heritage Swim Park it was splashing all summer long. During Verrado’s Summer of Splash, residents and their guests found a way to cool down with amazing events and activities. Every Tuesday and Thursday, the Assembly Ambassadors and The Goddard School hosted “Cool Treats” poolside. There were smiles all around as an average of 45 kiddos were treated with ice cream or popsicles on these special days.
Heritage Fun Zone was the place to be on Friday mornings. During Fun Zone, kids played games such as splish-splish-splash, freeze tag, balloon toss, and limbo. Along with these fun activities, Summer of Splash had events such as Dive-In movies and Teen Movie Nights both serving up complimentary popcorn.
The movies, “Zootopia” and “Star Wars” had a great turn out with close to 300 participants at each event. The fun did not stop there, on July 11, Sean Mireau played the steel drums making the swim park come alive with island vibes. Speaking of island vibes, one couldn’t forget the amazing Island Party. There was everything from Emerson Fry Bread, Sean on the steel drums, a hula hoop instructor, games for the kids, giveaways, and a fire dancer.
As summer comes to an end and we anticipate fall around the corner, it’s nice to reflect on the memorable summer we had here in Verrado. A special thank you to EPCOR Water for supporting all of our Summer of Splash programming.
