During this time of year when we are expressing gratitude and giving thanks for all our blessings, residents in the town of Verrado® are coming together to give back, in a big way. The spirit of giving in Verrado is an important part of our community heritage and legacy, as evidenced by The Giving Tree™, Verrado’s Nature of Giving.
While the first day of Verrado’s signature Hometown Holidays kicks off with a tree lighting celebration in town square, playing in snow in the park, photos with Santa Claus, gifts and tractor-drawn hayrides; the second day of the Hometown Holidays celebration is always dedicated to giving back and helping others have the chance to celebrate this wonderful time of year too.
The 8th annual Verrado Joy of Giving celebration will be held at the Verrado Golf Club®, on December 6th from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. This year, residents have chosen the local nonprofit beneficiaries All Faith Community Services, Buckeye Super Heroes and Homeless Youth Connection. These organizations were chosen because of their ability to get these donations directly into the hands and homes of local families and teens in need.
While the live celebration and gathering will be in early December, collection boxes are already popping up around town, including locations at the Verrado Coffee Company, Verrado Grille, Bashas’ and the Center on Main. Donations including toys, clothing, household and non-perishable items can be placed in any of the boxes or brought to the December 6th event. Tax deductible monetary donations are welcome as well.
The night of Verrado’s Joy of Giving event, guests enjoy complimentary hot chocolate and pastries, live musical performances and a fun craft table to create your own holiday ornament. None other than the master of giving, Santa Claus himself, always makes an appearance, so bring your cameras as well.
Last year, this event touched the lives of over 5,000 grateful Buckeye families. Verrado continues to grow that impact every year, and everyone is welcome to come experience the Joy of Giving.
