This past weekend, Verrado neighbors came together to celebrate the Verrado community’s unique heritage at the 8th Founder’s Day celebration. Founder’s Day is Verrado’s biggest party of the year and one of the community’s most special traditions.
On Friday night, Verrado friends and neighbors enjoyed drinks and tasty hors d’oeuvres under the stars at the Cocktail Party at the Raven Golf Club at Verrado.
Neighbors were up and moving together at Saturday morning’s Park Hop – a progressive park party Verrado-style bringing the Heritage District parks alive with family friendly games and activities.
The community was on its feet at the Saturday Night Block Party on Main Street. Twenty-six resident performance acts sang, danced, and played…strutting their talent in our Resident Variety Show hosted by Anderson Institute of Music.
And as the highlight of the weekend, Steven Page proved himself as one of the most popular artists in Canadian history playing some new solo material and some Barenaked Ladies favorites.
Family friendly traditions and competitions were the name of the game at Sunday’s Community Picnic in Founders Park. Congratulations go out to resident, Jeff Caler, the winner of the 2013 Bashas’ BBQ Rib Competition.
