Ground Control Verrado celebrates opening in Buckeye
Buckeye, Ariz.—Ground Control Verrado, on Main Street in Buckeye, celebrated the grand opening of a neighboring pub Saturday with music, food and 18 varieties of on-tap beer.
Ground Control opened in February.
Owners Sean and Tara Rassas believe a gastropub will fit into the family- and community-oriented location.
“We love the sense of community in Verrado; it’s the perfect place for Ground Control and the new gastropub,” Tara Rassas said.
The gastropub will offer upscale pub food, including three types of burgers, beer-braised short ribs, shepherd’s pie, fish and chips, soups and salads. Healthful options will be available, such as seared ahi lettuce cups, ceviche and hummus. Eighteen draft beers will be offered, and the choices will rotate often and seasonally.
Ground Control café will continue to operate next to the Gastropub, offering coffee drinks and homemade breakfast items, including oatmeal pancakes, omelets, skillets and bagel sandwiches and burritos.
Ground Control Verrado is at 21067 W. Main St. in Buckeye.
