The Masters Series Arts Lectures at Victory at Verrado

With the “Arts with a View” building well under way at The Victory Club (see photo updates here), we thought it was a great time to get the creative juices flowing with a new series of arts events for Victory residents and home shoppers. Engaging in art and creative endeavors is something we take seriously at Victory, which is why we’re excited to bring The Master Series art curriculum to the community over the next four months.

Lead by Diane Brown, a lifelong artist with 35 years of teaching experience, The Master Series is a hallmark of Studio Fine Art, a mobile fine arts program based here in the Valley. This program is great for experienced artists and curious beginners alike, featuring a combination of lectures and hands-on art projects focusing on the masters such as Pablo Picasso, Matisse, van Gogh, Corot, and more.

Classes will be held once monthly on either the second or third Saturday of the month from 3:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m. at The Big Patio.

Each class includes a presentation and hands-on art project applying the principles and concepts learned during the lecture. Presentations include a half hour lecture featuring the artist of the month, examining his or her style, methods, life, and art and world history of the time period followed by a Q&A.

After filling up on arts knowledge, you’ll get a 15-20 minute break with light refreshments and discussion before diving into your own project.

During the first class, Saturday, September 26th, Diane will begin discussing Picasso’s work from age 8 through his cubism period, which included 48,000 pieces in his lifetime of 92 years. Along with some new knowledge to use at your next cocktail party, you’ll be going home with a ready-to-frame piece of art, Picasso style.

We hope you’ll join us for the four part series for an opportunity to experience the “doing” of art, the enjoyment of self expression and chance to express your own creativity while learning from an expert.
