Need-to-know info about Founder’s Day

Founder’s Day is right around the corner (literally, it’s this weekend!) and we’ve put together some information to help you make the most of this special Verrado tradition. And be sure to drop in at The Vic Bar + Kitchen by March 26 to enjoy a Vic Burger and domestic beer for only $15!

Founder’s Day commemorative t-shirts

Buy this totally rad t-shirt to commemorate what’s sure to be a righteous weekend. Shirts will be sold at the Heritage Run, Block Party on Main Street and Community Picnic; $20 for adults and $12 for youth. Bring your credit card or a check; we won’t be accepting cash.

Street closures

Streets in Verrado will be closed for our Founder’s Day Block Party and Community Picnic. Check out the Village Green closure map and Founders Park closure map ahead of time to safely navigate the community this weekend. Closure times are as follows:

  • Streets near Village Green | Saturday from 5 a.m. – 11 p.m.
  • Streets near Founders Park | Sunday from 6 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Facility closures

The Center on Main will be closed all day March 25, except pools which will remain open until 11 a.m. Please join us at the Heritage Run to get in your morning workout.

Cocktail Party

Purchase tickets for only $10 by Thursday, March 23. If you wait they’ll be $15 at the door. We’ll have a cash bar plus a celebratory champagne toast; food is not included. Photo identification is required; 21 and older only. If you get hungry grab a late-night snack from the food truck that will be onsite starting at 9:30 p.m.

Guests wearing the raddest ’80s costumes will win backstage passes to meet Berlin! Don’t want to dress like you just stepped out of the ’80s? Cocktail attire is also acceptable. Show off your ’80s flare with Neon Nail Mania and don’t forget to show the receipt from your Cocktail Party ticket to receive discounts at The Spa.

Heritage Run

It’s not too late to register—sign up the morning of the race for $15. There is no fee for the one mile race. If you’re paying the day of the race, bring your credit card or a check; we won’t be accepting cash. Check in starts at 8:45 a.m., races at 9:30 a.m.

Pancake Breakfast

Fuel up on pancakes from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Cash donations will be accepted to support United Buckeye Firefighter Charities and The Giving Tree’s Feed My Starving Children campaign.

Block Party on Main Street

Gates will open at 5 p.m. Get ready to cheer on your neighbors—the Variety Show lineup has been released! And remember, no hard-sided coolers nor outside beverages, except unopened bottled water. Beer, wine and a signature cocktail can be purchased with valid identification; all proceeds will be donated to West Valley charities.

Be sure to visit Verrado’s Main Street eateries Ciao Grazie Wine Bar and Tempo Urban Bistro. They will be open and serving food and drinks throughout the night.

Community Picnic

We’ll have complimentary shuttle service as follows:

  • 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. | Depart Walton to Founders every 15 minutes
  • 1 – 3 p.m. | Depart Founders to Walton every 30 minutes; last shuttle leaves at 3 p.m.

Help your ‘hood with the coveted Neighborhood Spirit Award. In addition to bragging rights, the winning neighborhood gets a $250 Bashas’ gift card, a park reservation and a bounce house rental for their next park party. Check out how the points are broken down. Wear your neighborhood t-shirt to earn points at the community-wide photo taken at 2:45 p.m. sharp on the west side of the ramada.
